Gundam Trek: TNG

This is only the 150 dpi version. This thing is huge. I personally can't believe that I did this... I usually never finish a large project that I set out for myself. While coloring I also fixed mistakes in the lineart... that I did not even see until I was coloring those parts.

Now that we are on the final version, I guess it's story time for how this came about.

While reading the director interviews on the G Gundam DVDs, I noticed that the director made many jokes and references to Star Trek TNG (The Next Generation). There were also some in jokes, like Ulube's last name and even the director in full starfleet uniform in the opening credits. In my mind, the above image was forming. The thing that took the longest was character placement. Chibodee's was the first I decided, but the last I drew. He HAD to be in Data's seat. The Japanese voice actor that played Chibodee, also voiced Data in the dub of ST:TNG. The rest just went as I could think of them. Rain is the most out of character as Troi... she would have been better as Dr. Crusher, but she is rarely on the bridge... and I was not putting Maria Louise (to match up to George in the first officer's chair) in that outfit. Domon got the captain's seat because of his position in the Shuffle Alliance. Argo was put in the position of Worf mostly due to his no nonsense attitude and size. There was nowhere else to really put George, and Sai got his seat because like Wesley, he's a kid. I threw in Chibodee's crew because I needed someone at those panels... and they were there.

The coloring and shading is really REALLY lazy, I know. I just don't want to end up screwing up... I barely shaded the background for the 3D effect, and left the characters with flats.

And yes, I know I didn't detail the LCARS panels. I have not the time or energy... or large enough screens to work.

The art is all me. It feels good to have this one done... or at least as done as it's going to get.

In the event that someone wants the full 600dpi version, ask me nicely via note, and I might. The 150 should be more than enough though.

Edit - Oh yeah, while I'm at it, I would like to give a special thanks to a few people. Without their support I would never have actually managed to finish this monster.
